The amaran Cam closes the loop by feeding what the camera sees back to the lights. At launch, Auto Lighting supports up to two compatible amaran lights, with support for more complex multi-light setups planned through future software updates. With two lights connected, you can pick from three looks: Even for clean, balanced lighting, Defined for added shape and depth, or Bold for stronger contrast and mood. All of them are a starting point you can fine-tune.
The imaging side is no afterthought. The amaran Cam captures 4K at up to 60fps using a 1/1.3-inch sensor and an f/1.68 aperture, which amaran says should deliver cleaner low-light images and natural background separation. It’s been tuned across a range of skin tones, with colour accuracy aimed at keeping makeup, clothing and products close to how they look in person. A 2x lossless zoom keeps full 4K resolution as you move from wide framing to a tighter shot, and autofocus locks on in under a quarter of a second.
For more involved setups, up to four amaran Cams can be connected for multiple angles, such as a main view and an overhead product shot, with quick switching between them. Physically rotate the webcam and it switches automatically to native 9:16 output at up to 4K60 without cropping. Active cooling lets the amaran Cam run for at least 72 hours continuously at 4K60, which is no mean feat.
The amaran Cam is available now from authorised dealers and amaran’s online stores for €219. A streaming bundle with the amaran Verge light and amaran Mic is also on offer.
