Boulies’ New Ergonomic Chair is Seriously Roomy

This is one of the widest office chair seats you'll find

Finding an ergonomic chair that actually fits when you’re on the broader side can be a frustrating experience. Gaming chairs love to squeeze you in like a racing driver, and office chairs often top out at seat widths that leave bigger users perched uncomfortably towards the edges. Boulies is tackling that problem head-on with the EP500, a new ergonomic chair sporting a generous 51cm-wide seat designed to accommodate a much greater range of body types.

UK-based Boulies has been around for a few years now, previously keeping things reasonably traditional with the likes of the Boulies Master Series. The EP500 is a fresher approach, designed to accommodate users between 165cm and 190cm tall, it combines that generous seat width with adjustable backrest height and seat depth to dial in a proper fit. Rather than relying on manual lumbar dials, Boulies has gone with a self-adaptive lumbar support system that automatically adjusts to match the curve of your back, meaning one less thing to fiddle with when you’re trying to get comfortable.

There’s a decent feature set here beyond the width. The 5D armrests flip up entirely when you need them out of the way, which is handy for tucking the chair under a desk. You also get an adjustable headrest, reclining backrest, and an integrated footrest for those moments when work can wait. The upholstery is a chenille-blended mesh fabric, which should keep things comfortable and breathable during longer sessions.

The Boulies EP500 is available now from the Boulies website, priced at £349.99 in the UK and $389.99 in the US. There’s an introductory offer running that drops those prices to the pretty competitive £289.99 and $309.99 respectively, along with a two-year warranty and 14-day returns if it’s still not quite right.
