Creative’s New XF1 Speakers Put Dedicated Amplification Behind Each Driver

Desktop speakers usually face a trade-off between size and power, but Creative’s new XF1 speakers are an attempt to close that gap. Instead of a single amplifier driving a full range unit, each speaker uses a fully active 2-way design with DSP control and dedicated amplification for its own woofer and tweeter.

Creative says the bi-amplified layout of the XF1 keeps distortion down and holds the frequency response steady as volume climbs. Total output comes to 72W RMS, split across two 26W woofer channels and two 10W tweeter channels, with a 3-inch FEA-optimised woofer and a ¾-inch tweeter in each cabinet.

Connectivity covers most bases. The Creative XF1 speakers carry dual Hi-Res Audio certification, supporting playback up to 40kHz over USB audio and analogue line-in, plus Hi-Res Audio Wireless over LDAC via Bluetooth 6.0. USB-C handles up to 24-bit/96kHz from a compatible source, and a 3.5mm line-in sits alongside a dedicated subwoofer output with automatic mode switching, giving anyone starting with the pair a route into a fuller 2.1 setup later without swapping hardware.

The Creative Nexus app pairs a 10-band parametric EQ, with more than 120 presets covering over 20 genres of music and close to 100 games. The idea is to offer a neutral curve for mixing work, a fuller profile for films, or something punchier for games and everyday desk use, without needing manual EQ tuning.

Each speaker comes with a detachable cork stand to angle the drivers toward the listener. It’s available in black or white and launches at £139.99 in the UK and $179.99 in the US.
