Secretlab is tapping into 90s nostalgia with three new Pokémon editions based on its Secretlab Titan Evo gaming chair. The lineup features Pikachu, Gengar, and Eevee with each design wrapping around the same ergonomic foundation as the original Titan Evo. There are material changes here though, with plush velour and microsuede detailing to give each Pokémon a bit of tactile personality.
While the overall design of each will likely be enough for hardcore Pokémon fans, the real charm is in the details. Each chair features its Pokémon’s type symbol and Pokédex number worked into the backrest, while the side wings are covered in hand-arranged line art featuring multiple poses and expressions. The Pikachu edition alone has 11 different motifs hidden in the design, including a nod to the tail differences between male and female Pikachu.
The Eevee edition leans into that Pokémon’s special trait by featuring all eight Eeveelutions across the design. It’s a warm cream-and-brown colourway that’s arguably the most subtle of the three, handy if you want the nostalgia without your office chair screaming “gamer” quite so loudly.
“Much like some of the biggest Pokémon fans today, I also grew up with the franchise. That’s why we wanted this chair collection to speak to the inner child in all of us, while still being elevated with craftsmanship that would appeal to our now grown-up selves.
Every detail you see is an intentional decision made to achieve this — from using materials like velour to emulate the softness of each Pokémon to weaving their most iconic colors into a gradient effect.” – Irene Tee, Senior Product Graphic Designer
