Secretlab's Exclusive McLaren MonoCell Chair Didn't Last Long

The first drop of Secretlab’s exclusive McLaren MonoCell Edition, a limited-run collector’s gaming chair co-designed with McLaren Automotive, has quickly sold out. Only 100 units will be made in total worldwide, with each featuring a unique serialised number badge and a carbon fibre topshell inspired by McLaren’s supercar design legacy. The first batch dropped on December 15 and was rapidly snapped up, despite a $2,000 price tag.

an collaboration with a little extra

Secretlab design collaborations aren’t exactly rare, but this one’s a bit different. The Secretlab McLaren MonoCell Edition isn’t just a Titan Evo with fancy upholstery, it’s a genuine limited edition piece with just 100 units worldwide. You’ll know which one you get too, as each has its own serialised number badge from 1 to 100.

Co-designed with McLaren Automotive, the chair draws heavily on the British supercar manufacturer’s pioneering work with carbon fiber. McLaren was one of the first to use a full carbon fiber monocoque chassis in a road car with the legendary McLaren F1 back in 1992, and that material has remained central to its identity ever since.

carbon fibre meets gaming chair

Apart from that eye-watering $2,000 price tag, the headline feature here is the carbon fibre topshell, which Secretlab says is inspired by the flowing lines of the McLaren W1, currently the fastest lapping and accelerating McLaren road car. The shell was crafted through precision layering to balance strength, flexibility, and weight, creating what the company describes as a “unique aerodynamic silhouette.”

“McLaren has always stood for more than just engineering excellence — it’s about the experience, and the way their creations make people feel.” said Alaric Choo, Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Secretlab.

“We want to honour that history of exceptional design with the Secretlab McLaren MonoCell Edition, giving fans a unique way to connect with what they love through premium comfort sitting.”

It’s worth noting that this isn’t a full carbon fiber chair – the topshell is the showcase element, sitting atop the standard Titan Evo frame and mechanisms. The rest of the chair uses Secretlab’s established technologies: the patent-pending cold-cure foam, the sculpted pebble seat base, and the 4-way L-ADAPT lumbar support system.

The upholstery is Dinamica microsuede, a material you’ll find in actual McLaren interiors. It’s a premium touch that fits the collector positioning, and should offer a different feel to Secretlab’s more common leatherette and SoftWeave options.

when and where

The first Secretlab McLaren MonoCell Edition drop came and went on December 15, 2025 with a second drop coming in early 2026. Given how quickly the first drop went you’ll need to register your interest for the next, and be ready with the credit card.
