Nacon’s Revolution Pro X SE Lets You Adjust Joystick Tension on the Fly

A Hell is Us-inspired design and two back buttons make it a leaner take on Nacon's excellent flagship.

Nacon has launched the Revolution Pro X Special Edition, an officially licensed Xbox wireless controller built around a control ring that changes the mechanical tension of its joysticks. A single adjustment shifts the sticks between looser, faster movement and heavier, more deliberate aiming, with no parts to swap or springs to change.

Stick tension that suits quick flicks in a racing game or won’t necessarily suit holding steady on a distant target across the battlefield, so the Revolution Pro X SE lets you move between the two as the situation demands. That’s paired with Hall Effect joysticks which means stick drift is nothing to worry about in the future, too.

It’s an idea I’m glad to see. When I reviewed the Revolution X Unlimited earlier this year, its lighter stick tension took me a day or two to get used to, and my aim was noticeably wobblier until muscle memory caught up. Being able to firm things up with one adjustment would have smoothed that transition considerably.

In plenty of ways, the Revolution Pro X SE reads like the Unlimited’s younger sibling. For £70 less you still get micro-switch buttons and instant triggers, which were among my favourite parts of the flagship’s feel, along with two programmable shortcut buttons on the back. That’s a step down from the six extra buttons on the Unlimited, though given how often I caught its lightly actuated rear buttons by accident, a pared-back layout isn’t necessarily a loss. You also lose the screen for onboard adjustments, though again it’s something a lot of gamers can probably do without.

The Pro X SE works across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and smart TVs, and is pitched squarely at competitive players in FPS, TPS, racing and extraction shooters. On PC it can also run wired with a 1,000Hz polling rate, which works out at a claimed 1ms of latency. The design is a minimalist one, taking its cues from the art style of Hell is Us, the action adventure Nacon published back in 2025.

Nacon’s stated aim with the Revolution Pro X SE is to offer a full-featured precision controller at a more competitive price, and the numbers do stack up. At £109.99 (€129.99), it comes in £70 below the Revolution X Unlimited and undercuts Xbox’s own Elite controller by a similar margin. It’s available now from nacongaming.com and retailers across Europe.
